Work in progress

The FAQ has multiple items that really should be in this guide, but which weren't placed here because dealing with the SGML files was too much of a hassle. In addition, parts of this guide are simply outdated for the same reason.

Sections that have been added or updated so far:

  • Wine from WineHQ (revised and expanded; info about version numbering system added from FAQ)
  • Installing and running Windows programs, Running programs from the command line (renamed Running Wine/How to run Wine sections and expanded it with text from the FAQ)

Sections that need updating

Network shares: according the https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=425, the instructions here don't work in current Wine, and haven't worked for at least 3 years. --RosanneDiMesio (talk) 21:34, 28 February 2016 (CST)

And there's also https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14501. --RosanneDiMesio (talk) 07:24, 29 February 2016 (CST)

The examples in section 3.6.6 make no sense in current Wine; wineprefixes are not normally located in /usr/local and haven't been for over 9 years (the time I've been using Wine). --RosanneDiMesio (talk) 12:31, 15 September 2017 (CDT)
