The WineHQ Gitlab is hosting free and open source software projects related to Wine and/or Mono. You can explore our various projects here.
We welcome all contributors, whatever your skill set. You can help not only by writing code, but also by testing and reporting issues, or by writing documentation. You can find more contribution ideas on the Wine Wiki.
Before getting started, please take a minute to familiarize yourself with our Contributor Policies below.
Contributor Policies
Code of Conduct
WineHQ has adopted the Contributor Covenant for all the services we host. Please conduct yourself in an appropriate manner, avoiding abusive, bullying, and/or discriminatory behavior.
For more information, including where to report any inappropriate behavior, please consult the full Code of Conduct.
Getting access
If you are looking to contribute, the first step is to create an account on Gitlab. You'll then be asked to validate your email address.
After signing up, you will be able to file issues in existing projects. However, to prevent spamming, newly-created accounts are not allowed to create new projects or fork existing ones.
To request the capability to create/fork projects, please file a User Verification issue. An administrator will then review your request and grant you access.
Your private information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
WineHQ projects only
This site is for WineHQ projects only. It's not a general-purpose hosting site.
You are welcome to host your own projects here provided that they are related to Wine or Mono. Unrelated projects will be removed.
Free / open source software only
All software hosted at WineHQ must be released under an open source or free software license.
Please keep in mind that while Wine is often used to run proprietary software, such software cannot be distributed here and must never be committed to a project or attached to an issue. This applies to application installers, Microsoft redistributables, binary patches, game cracks, etc.
No spam
Spamming of any kind is not tolerated, and will result in instant account deletion.
If you notice spam in a comment, issue, or merge request, please file an Abuse Report to bring it to the attention of the administrators.
