gnome-exe-thumbnailer

So the last update to the package was more than half a year ago, and just involved some tweaks to the Debian packaging at that. I wanted to get in touch with the developers to see what plans they had before proposing anything here. If Scott R doesn't get back to me (I hope he's ok, he's kind of dropped off the FOSS grid), I plan to contact James L at Debian.

This isn't really an abandoned project yet, but to be honest, it does seem like it will fall through the cracks if nobody adopts it in the next couple years. One of the READMEs by Scott for an old revision in Winezeug mentioned hoping it would settle upstream (not sure if he meant Wine or Gnome). While I'm not really comfortable with the time investment needed to maintain a project (particularly reviewing patches / pull requests), I'd be more than happy to help host it if nobody else wants to. It's a really nice addition to our desktop integration (and could probably be worked into something that's cross-environment) so letting it wither seems such a waste. -- KyleAuble (talk) 01:56, 12 March 2016 (CST)

James L is now maintaining exe-thumbnailer for Debian and keeping an upstream repo at Github so this isn't an issue anymore. KyleAuble (talk) 12:30, 21 April 2018 (CDT)
